When Marv retired to Bryson City in 2005, he and Vivian enjoyed long car rides around Swain County. He also has fond memories of riding while she practiced driving so she could past her driving test. When Marv and Linda married, she was the witness to our expression of love. She acceoted Linda as family. Every subsequent trip to North Carolina, we stopped in to say hello and take her out to lunch. Her smile was ever welcoming! Her laugh was contagious!
Our last visit with her in early November of 2015, she recognized us, and her whole face lit up with joy. Seeing her smile again sure made our trip worthwhile. We are so glad she was able to live her last days in her own home. Thank you to family and caretakers who made that possible.
What a matriarch! She will be greatly missed.
