Obituary of Pearl Cable

PEARL CRISP CABLE 94 went to heaven on February 28, 2015. She was born on Pilky Creek in Swain County and lived in Bryson City until 2011 when she moved with her daughter to Lexington NC. She was the daughter of Andrew Miles and Sarah Pilkington Crisp. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sanford Cable, her granddaughter Kimberly Arvey Blankenship and son-in-law Jimmy Arvey. Two brothers: Raymond Crisp and Carl Crisp. Four
sisters: Wenona Calhoun, Laura Snell, Leatha Curtis and Virgie Monteith.
She is survived by a daughter, Velma Cable Arvey of Lexington NC and a son Marvin Ray Cable and wife Charlotte Murray of Bryson City NC, a great grandson Jayce Proctor and a granddaughter, Alicia Gonzalaz. She is survived by five nieces and two nephews in the Crisp family and many nieces and nephews in the Cable family.
She leaves many close friends who will surely miss her memories and tales of growing up in the Great Smoky Mountains when times were really hard.
She was a nurse for Dr. James E. Oliver for 25 years and for Dr. Mathiesen for 3 years. She retired and was even more active in her church and community.
She was a member of Franklin Grove Baptist Church for 60 years and was church clerk from 1971 to 2002. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bryson City until she moved to heaven.
