Emma Lois Barker, 90, and Grays Harbor County area resident for the past five years, died on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center in Montesano, Washington. She was born on June 1, 1920, in Bryson City, North Carolina to Ace and Laura (Cochran) Fuller. Her family resided on Alarka Road at Bryson City and she attended the Alarka School. Growing up she helped out with work on the family farm and began her lifetime hobby of hunting in the great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. She also helped many people in her community that could not help themselves. Besides being an avid hunter she enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. Emma was married to Luther Barker on March 5, 1946, in Swain County, North Carolina. He died in 1985. She often traveled to the State of Washington to visit her children. Emma is survived by her daughter, Sovonne Keiser of Aberdeen, Washington; her son, William "Fred: Fuller of Hoquiam, Washington; three sisters, Imogene Moose of Montesano, Washington, Lexie Denny of High Point, North Carolina and Becky Barton of Peach Tree, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Luther Barker, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Messer and two brothers, George Fuller and John Fuller. An inurnment service will be held later by the Crisp Funeral Home
