Obituary of Frances Colville

Frances Armitage Colville, age 93, of the Ela Community passed away on Monday December 9, 2013 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Eugene and Emma Elkin Armitage. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J.L. Colville and a brother Olin Armitage. She was born and grew up in Kentucky, but had resided in Bryson City for 70 years. Frances is survived by one daughter Pat Colville of Bryson City; a stepdaughter Polly Colville of Cullowhee; a stepson Bryson Colville of Cullowhee; one brother-in-law Robert Colville of Jackson, Tennessee; sister-in-laws Elizabeth Colville of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ruth Colville of Berea, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; special niece Kathryn Greeley of Waynesville; nephew Stephen Colville of Bryson City; dear friend Vicki Horne of Bryson City, and her beloved four-legged companion Joyful. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Charles Ray Ball and Wayne Dickert will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westcare Life Paths Hospice at 68 Hospital Rd.
