Obituary of Doris Alene Stillwell

Bryson City Dateline: Doris Byrd Stillwell, of the Lauada Community went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 16th, 2013 in a Buncombe County Hospital. Daughter of the late Charlie and Pearl Byrd of Swain County. She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Stillwell in March 2000; a son David Charles in April 1942; five sisters Ethel Gibby, Ester Byrd, Grace Simpson, Florence DeHart, and Edith Tabor and five brothers Ray, Larry, Buell, Weaver, and John Byrd. She is survived by a son Bill Stillwell and wife Maria of Orlando, FL; two daughters Brenda Maiers and husband James of Dallas, NC, and Peggy Millwood and husband Don of Nebo, NC; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and a sister Polly Reitzel of Hickory, NC. Doris was a homemaker and is leaving a lot of friends and loved ones behind. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday March 23, 2013 in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Dr. John Tagliarini and Rev. Patrick Breedlove will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 AM Saturday March 23rd, at the Funeral Home.
