Obituary of Samuel Andrew Gibson

Samuel Andrew Gibson, 77, of Bryson City, NC, passed away Saturday, November 02, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 24, 1947, in Sylva North Carolina, to the late JR and Kathleen Patton Gibson Booker. Sam was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Sam also worked as a truck driver and spent the last 25 years of his life in Bryson City.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Ray Gibson, and a son Andrew Gibson.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Linda Cullers Gibson; 4 daughters: Annette Lowry (Kevin), Christine Gibson, Tina Adams (Scott), and Sharon Boyle (Bill); 3 sisters: Rita Lamb (Roger), Kathy Crossley, Beth Smith (Donny); 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jack Tyson who Sam has been friends with since living in Michigan also survives him.
A Service will be held Wednesday November 6, 2024, at 2pm at Thomas Chapel. Burial will follow in the Thomas Chapel Cemetery.
