Obituary of Fannie Burns

Fannie Ledford Burns, age 91, peacefully departed to her heavenly home on August 24, 2023.
She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Martha Ledford. She was preceded in death by her husband Gainey Burns, her sons, Donnie, Randy and Timmy Burns and a grandson, Evan Ward.
She leaves behind many people that loved her as she served over 30 years in the Swain County School System as a cafeteria manager. She loved every child that came through that line and she was loved and regarded by them as Nannie Fannie.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Burns, grandson, Jason Cook (Julie) and great grands Cody (Autumn), Hunter and Savannah Cook and great great grands Ryder Cook and Woodrow Brown.
She is also survived by her son John Burns (Kym), grandchildren, Nick Burns, Aleisha Kirkland (Jay), Trent Ward, Ciera Wiggins (Jeremiah), Johnathan Sherrill and great grands Kendra Crowe, Naven Sherrill, Lukas and Alena Wiggins, Eli and Chimaera Ward and great great grand Usti Sherrill.
Other survivors include:
Grandson, Jerry Jenkins, great grand Ashley Cabe (Sonny), great great grand Journey Cabe.
Grandson, Bryan Burns (Mergina), great grands Triston Nava, Iraleigh Finn, and Kimberley Wood.
Grandson, Lee Burns (Kristin), great grands Jaren, Bryson and Caiden Burns, Caleb and Olivia Belote.
Grandson, Kenny Watkins.
Grandson, Travis Burns (Lauren), great grand Maddie Burns.
Granddaughter, Donna Green (Scott), great grands Devon and Kayla Auman, great great grands Riley and Braxton Aumen.
Granddaughter, Shellina Marr (Jason), great grands Aleysha Walker, Sakira and Jonasia Marr, and Jai’Cere Washington.
Service will be Sunday August 27 at 2:00 pm at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel and conducted by Pastor Roger Roland with music by James and LeeAnn Shuler. Visitation will be at 1 pm. Burial will be at Swain Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Mitchell Burns, Brad Burns, Justin Wike, Buck Cline, Hunter Cook, Cody Cook and honorary pallbearer, Ryder Cook.
