Obituary of Ray Jackson Gibby

Ray Jackson Gibby, 96, of the Deep Creek Community Passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was born in Bushnel, NC, May 10, 1927, to Dock and Margie Monteith Gibby. He served his country in World War II in the Army. He was a salesman for many years for both Bunny Bread and RC Cola. Ray was the oldest member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He was also the BINGO Caller for the VFW Post in Cherokee.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Gibby, a grandson Joshua GIbby, and his three brothers, Hugh, Vaughn, and Goldie Gibby.
He is survived by his only sister, Nell Stanley (Mack), his son Russell Gibby (Nancy), a grandson, Jeremiah Gibby and a granddaughter Jennifer Graves (Timmy), 2 great-granddaughters: Kayla Fortner Arellano (Jose) and Haley Gibby, and a great-great-granddaughter Koraline Arellano.
There will be no services at this time. The family will hold a private Celebration of life in the future. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his honor to the local VFW Post.
