Lambert Wilson-
You were our brother in-law. You will be missed by so many. You were loved by so many. When I went to work at the Mountain Heritage Center in 2017 at WCU I did not realize how many people knew you and loved you! When I mentioned your name, and that you were family, people would just go on and on about you, not only as a native art collector and educator, but as a person. I always felt a little extra special at work because of the love WCU had for you and that you were part of our family. Anyone that had the love for people, animals and native art will definitely hold a special place in heaven.
We will see you again one day.
Donnie & Lois Stiles

Lambert was one of the finest men I ever met. He was so kind to me and my family when we first moved here in 1993 and could always be counted on for the most accurate information around town! The world is a little bit worse off now that he is not in it, but his smile and loving nature will live on forever. RIP, Mr. Wilson.

Linda & Lori and Family,
Kathy and I would like to extend or sincere condolences. I only met Lambert on a couple of occasions when we visited Bryson City and Cherokee. My memory of Lambert was his countenance that revealed his gentle spirit. He was a special man that touched many especially the children. He was a soft spoken man that placed others before himself. Your family and the community has suffered a great loss of a friend, brother, mentor and a great asset to his community. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the family. Lambert was my cousin as well as my fourth grade teacher. He was a wonderful person who always had a smile for everyone. He never knew a stranger and would always be the first one to help another person in need. He will be greatly missed, but always in our memories.
Love, Kimberly Reed

To Lambert’s entire family, my family would like to offer condolences and prayers. Lambert was my elementary principal and I remember how much he enjoyed each school day but especially our “sale days”, fall festival, and Cherokee heritage days. He participated in our education and encouraged the children. Later in life my children and myself were influenced by his involvement at SCC. My husband was raised on Alarka and expressed what a loving and godly family that the Wilsons were and are. May God the father, Jesus the son, bless and comfort you all with his healing spirit.

My heart was like all who heard of this terrible end of life, very very saddened. Mr. Wilson was one of my many teachers at Almond Elementary School in his very first years of teaching. His smile never changed over the years, and from all that I’ve read online, neither did his drive to be the best of himself or give the best of himself. Prayers never seem enough at a time such as this, but it’s all I have to offer. I believe Mr. Wilson would say, “Bring them on, and give it all you’ve got.”
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Connie Allen
