I grew up coming to Bryson City as a child and visiting Robert and Sue with my parents, and remember with great fondness the many gatherings and dinners i was blessed to enjoy and be part of.. I'll never forget the great times had when Robert would blow the train whistle along with my dad as he played the guitar! Robert was always such a kind and always friendly person to me, both in my childhood years as well as when I encountered him in my adulthood. Robert you were a wonderful man and I'm thankful for having known you. I wish both Sue and Jodi to be filled with grace and strength and understanding in this painful situation! But Robert is somewhere so totally full of joy and contentment and peace that we can't comprehend! We are hurting and missing him, but he is now happy , at peace, and content!!

Sue and Jody. My heart is so sad. What a wonderful friend he was. He lived his life on his terms and lived it well. He will be missed by all who knew him. I know that there are no words that can ease the pain yo are going thru so I will not try. I love all of you and will be in touch later. Love

Bob was like a Dad to me and was one of the best people I knew when I lived in Bryson City.He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone and one of the greatest mechanics that still existed there and when he retired from auto mechanical after 35 years Western NC lost a great asset and now he is a great loss to his family... I remember wonderful times on Sunday evenings and holidays in Bryson City,NC and Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge,TN where we spent family time with him and I’m glad and honored to have known him as a role model in my life... and my family and myself will always cherish the times we spent with Bob.
He is now residing with the Lord and we should be thankful although he will be extremely missed by his Wife and Daughter, that he is in a better place.
