Jack and Family,
We are deeply saddened to learn that Jason passed away. While I barely knew him, I enjoyed the conversations I had with him and found him to be an engaging, thoughtful and caring man. We are praying for him and your family.

Mr Webb,he was one of my favorite teachers and was one of the most teachers that were involved in their subject that they were teaching other than Peggy seay.mr Webb always wanted his students to succeed so he would give us students candy and stickers if we got the question or if we did good in his class.he always used to aggravate my little sister Autumn DeHart about Dallas Hunt and how she was going to be his future cousin-in-law,but she always liked it because she had always liked him.But they would have never been that close in friendship if it wasn't for mr.webb,I will never forget the sweet memories that he made in his class.a golden heart and stopped beating and two wonderful hands are at rest, may you rest easy.I will continute to pray for the family may god be with y'all during this hard and tough time but God will help you through it.

Hi my name is Chase Bridges, I was in his class in 7th grade around 2014? He was also my afterschool teacher. I was a pretty standard middle school kid, awkward and not many friends. Home life wasn't too great either, but man Mr. Webb took all that away when he was around. He got me into history and to this day history remains my favorite subject, in fact becoming a history teacher isn't off the table because of him. He also got to show me that there is more than just Swain county, there's interesting stuff going on everywhere, so many more things I could list that he singlehandedly got me into. Such a great guy and such a massive loss, so sorry to the family. But I'm also so very thankful I got to meet him and know him, and him to know me. I'll never forget him.

BROTHER JACK- WE AND YOUR MICHIGAN POSSE, ARE ALL SO, SO SORRY FOR JASON'S LOSS, AND YOU, JODI, AND FAMILY HAVE OUR MOST SINCERE AND DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES. NEVER HAS THE TERM," THE FRUIT NEVER FALLS FAR FROM THE TREE", BEEN MORE APPROPRIATE, AS JASON HAS EXHIBITED THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE THE RESPECT, COMPASSION, AND NEVER ENDING UNSELFISH ABILITY TO HELP AND SUPPORT HIS STUDENTS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY AS EVIDENCED BY MANY OF THE REMARKS ON HIS TRIBUTE , JUST AS YOU HAVE WITH SO MANY OF YOUR FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS, AND UNION CONSTITUENTS UP HERE FOR SO MANY, MANY YEARS. YOUR FATHER/SON RELATIONSHIP WAS SECOND TO NONE AS YOUR MUTUAL RELATIONSHIP TO YOUR CO-JOURNEY TO YOUR BELOVED OLEO ACRES SPELLED OUT. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HIM AND WILL FOREVER RESOUND THROUGH THE HILLS, VALLEYS, AND MOUNTAINS OF HIS CHERISHED NORTH CAROLINA. KEVIN AND CAROLE MCGINTY

What a heart-breaker. Having your children go first is never easy, and knowing Jack the way I did I can unequivocally tell you he raised a wonderful child. Parents can't help but pass along their sense of humor to the kids, add that to his values and you've got a winner. Tis a sad day indeed, I'll be thinking of the entire Webb Family, wishing them a peaceful transition with Jason being gone. God bless you all. Peace.

I was a student of his a couple years ago and he was a really kind hearted person, and I know without a doubt he is in heaven. One summer he nominated me for a STEM camp that was in Washington, I remember getting a big packet in the mail, it had his name at the bottom and I felt so honored that he picked me for that. I loved his sense of humor and I enjoyed his class. He made learning fun and I was also in his leadership class, a couple times a month we would go outside and clean up the front of the school. He cared about how the school looked on the outside and the inside. He also cared deeply about every student that was in his classroom. And he always bought those pop up stickers that he would put on our papers when he gave them back to us, I kept a few of them because I thought they were so cool. And the year I was in 7th grade we had a scary lockdown and I was in his classroom and he kept us all calm. I knew he would protect us if anything bad happened, he put tables in front of the door, and stacked all of our book bags on them to keep us safe. And we hadn’t gotten to eat lunch yet that day, so we were all hungry and he had a candy bar that he pulled out of his desk, he figured out a way to give us all a piece. He said I know it’s not much but at least we have something in our bellies, I’m sorry that’s all I have. I loved his smile that he had everyday and he was always making us laugh. He found videos that would go with our lessons. I’ll never forget the fleas on rats song that he played when we learned about the bubonic plague. I miss him so much and I wish I could’ve went to visit him after I left middle school. To his family I am very sorry for your loss, he will definitely be missed.
