Obituary of Jacob David Cabe

Jacob David Cabe, 29, of Cherokee, passed away on September 28, 2020. He was born in Jackson County, North Carolina on April 25, 1991 to Terance Cabe and Kimberly Loftis who survive him. Jacob worked as a river guide on the Nantahala River and as a stone mason. In the past he also worked at Cataloochee Resort as a snowboard instructor. Jacob was a free spirit who was an all-around outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed fly fishing and camping. He was a very loving person and will be missed greatly by all of those that knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a step father, David Loftis; one sister, Anna Grace Cabe; one brother, Travis Cabe (Hope); his granny, Ella Charlene Cabe, a grandmother, Lamada Thompson; a niece, Riley Cabe; two nephews Cain Saunooke and Evan Ball; three uncles Charles Anthony Cabe, James Thomas Cabe, and Mike Allison. In addition, he had numerous friends that loved him and will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 2:00pm at the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Reverend Jim Frady and Kenneth Braswell will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherrill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Fuller, Drew Rochester, Terry Morgan, David Hughes, Kenny Wauldren, and Tyler Harrison. The family will gather at the Chapel of the funeral home at 1:00pm to receive friends. Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the Cabe family with arrangements.
