I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I did not know in time to attend the service/visitation. I only met your dad a couple of times, but enjoyed meeting both your parents in their home across from Ingles. They have been in my thoughts many times over the years as I passed their home and wondered about them and where they were. My heart goes out to you and your family. Blessings to you as you go through this difficult time.

Mrs. Calhoun, Dan, Joe & Jim,
I will always remember Mr. Calhoun as a remarkably friendly, and good hearted man. Throughout my youth I remember often stopping at your store with my grandfather (T.A. Sandlin) and in later years on my own to pick up the essentials for a teenage boy, and visit with you. Thanks to Mr. Calhoun and each of you for helping guide me along my path, and particulalry for your friendship. God bless and keep you.

We are so sorry we didn't hear about your loss in time to get to the service. We always appreciated Mr. Calhoun's kind and mild-mannered disposition. The years at First Baptist were special for many reasons, but getting to know and love your family was one of our greatest blessings. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I've known Brother Calhoun since about 1962. I remember my dad (Marvin Burchfield) stopping at his store and purchasing those big sticks of bologna before heading up Jenkins Branch to my grandparent's home (Caro and Katherine Burchfield). Later as an adult I was privileged to sit in Lodge with him at Oconee Masonic Lodge # 427 there in Bryson. I am saddened to hear of his loss. My condolences to all of the Calhoun Family.

To Wallace's family--I knew the man when I was a boy and he was always good to me and other local kids. He helped with the construction of the Little League baseball field when it was along the river down below his store in the summer of 1961 (I'm pretty sure of that date), lending use of his truck and assisting in other ways. My sympathy is with you.
Jim Casada
