Obituary of Marie Alemany

Marie Edwards Alemany of Bryson Ciity, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 5:30 AM Wednesday November 13, 2019 following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Alemany was a native and resident of Swain County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late McKinley Edwards and the late Annie (Angel) Edwards. She was an Honor Graduate of Swain County High School and a Cum Laude graduate of Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC, Earning a BS Degree in Business Administration. She earned a Masters Degree in School Administration from the University of Montevalla, Alabama. She was awarded the Delta Kappa Gamma State of Alabama Scholarship for a year of graduate study in 1969.

Mrs. Alemany enjoyed a long career in the field of Education, both secular and Christian. She was a classroom teacher for thirty years. She served as Principal of Emmanuel Christian School , Pontiac Michigan, Principal of Grace Baptist School, Decatur, Alabama, and Principal of Grace Christian Academy of Bryson City, NC.

Mrs. Alemany was an active member of Hillside Baptist Church, Bryson City. She taught Sunday School and Home Bible Classes for mare than fifty years.

Surviving are her husband, Al Alemany of Bryson City. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Willard Stallcup Jr., her, brother, Herman Edwards, and her sisters, Helen Casada and Louise Cowan.

The family will receive friends form 4:00 PM until 4:30 PM on Monday November 18, 2019 at Hillside Baptist Church, Funeral Services will follow at 4:30 PM at Hillside Baptist Church on Monday the 18th. Pastor Al Alemany officiating. Burial will be in the Bryson City Cemetery.
