I was so sorry to learn of Mr. Parris's death and extend my sympathies to the family. Angie had shared with me what a special person he was and how independent he continued to be to the end. I know you all are going to miss him so much. I am sure you will cherish the memories of his remarkable life and the love he shared.

Sorry to hear about Troy passing. Keep the memories Linda, Bruce, and Brenda, It is difficult losing a parent. We lost mom in April. As the years have gone by I think of living on Conleys creek too as you all did. Bruce drove the bus on many winter days. It was a good move closer out to have the opportunity to be a college graduate and work. Lots of things makes us stronger, but parents play a tremendous role. Condolence to the family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When I think of Uncle Troy I think of a gentle, quiet, loving man. All my memories were when y'all lived on Conley's Creek and we would come visit for a couple of weeks. I can't remember anything specific but I do remember Uncle Troy wore those awesome overalls! I know you will miss him very much but thankfully we know we will see him again one day!

Brenda, Lynda, Bruce and all of Troy's extended family--Please accept my sympathies in this time of sorrow and trouble, but as you do so know that you were blessed by the loving presence and longevity of a wonderful man. From the time I was a teenager staying at your home on Conleys Creek right up until a wonderful conversation with Troy at a reunion of former Carolina Wood Turning Company employees and their families a few years back (he brought a scrumptious cake he had baked to the event!), he was a man I greatly admired. One of the true mountain breed--honest, no stranger to hard work, reliable, and a pure delight to know. As your mourn hopefully awareness of his innate goodness and countless fond memories will succor and sustain you.
