Ronnie grew to be a friend that I always looked forward to talk to. I always enjoyed his stories and I appreciated his knowledge of the Park and local Swain County History. He was a good neighbor and he will be missed here at Hyatt Creek. It hit our community hard to hear of his passing.

Members of Ronnie's family--I learned of his passing with both surprise and dismay. My connection to Ronnie (and for me that was always his name) go back to his pre-teen years and Little League baseball. I was his coach for a year or two and he spent a great deal of time around our home when the ball field was up near the Van Raalte plant on Black Hill. He was always bubbling over with enthusiasm and was a darn good baseball player as well. Later we reconnected through his love of photography and the wonderful world of the Smokies, and I was always delighted when he shared a photo or two or some thought about the natural world which meant so much to both of us. You are in my thoughts and we've lost a fine man.
