Alta Downs, 77, of Bryson City passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dolly Parris Jenkins; two children, Dennis Downs and Vicky Beck; great grandchild, Mason Todd West; and her brother, Garl Jenkins.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Downs and wife Linda of Bryson City, Jim Clark and wife Joyce of Sylva; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Brooks of Bryson City; brothers, Willard Jenkins of Bryson City, Foya Jenkins of Michigan, and Carroll Jenkins of Top Sail, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday at Midway Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Sale will officiate.
Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the family.
