Obituary of Alice Kay Killebrew

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Alice Kay Wright Killebrew, 77, of Toot Hollow Road, died Wednesday, August 17th, at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
The funeral will be Saturday, August 20th, 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Bryson City and officiated by Rev. Dr. John Tagliarini. The internment will be at Swain Memorial Park in Bryson City. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 20th, 12:30 pm at First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Killebrew was born Dec. 21, 1938, to Carroll and Juanita Wright. She was a graduate of Swain County High School, Mars Hill College and Wake Forest University. She was the president and co-owner of Carolina Building Supply Company. Mrs. Killebrew was an active member of First Baptist Church in Bryson City. She was also involved with Relay for Life and previously served on the boards of United Community Bank and Marianna Black Library. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters-in-law Joan Wright, Nancy Killebrew and Ann Killebrew.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Hoyt Killebrew of the home; son Chad Killebrew and wife Sheila of Lexington; daughter Anita Killebrew Herbert and husband Ralph of Chesapeake, Virginia; grandsons Charlie and Andy Killebrew; brother Carroll Wright, Jr. and wife Barbara of Clyde; and brother-in-law George Killebrew and wife Linda of Milan, Tennessee.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund.
