Obituary of Roy Thomas Rackley

Roy "Jr." T. Rackley, 75, of Whittier went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 29, 2016. A native of Pickens County, (Easley) South Carolina, he retired from Alice Manufacturing Company. He attended Ela Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mellie Scruggs Rackley; Helen Bryant Rackley, the mother of his son; and two sisters, Velma Patterson and Ruby Duncan. Surviving are his wife, Susan Wiggins Rackley of Whittier; his son, Roger (Donna) Rackley of Travelers Rest, SC; two granddaughters, Brandi (Matt) Rainey and Brittany (Caleb) Motes; and two great-grandsons, Ben and Henry Rainey. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Chay, Amy, and Jennifer of Concer Care, as well as hospice, Ela Baptist Church, and all of his dancing friends, who he enjoyed clogging and two-stepping with for over 25 years. Visitation will be at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City at 2pm on Sunday, July 31st, followed by the service at 3pm, with Revs. Larry Foster and Tom Harris officiating.
