Douglas (Doug) Wayne Ballew Jr., 54, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday January 1, 2016. A native of Swain County he was the son of Wanda Kirkland Ballew of Bryson City and the late Douglas Wayne Ballew.
Doug was a United States Marine Veteran.
In addition to his mother Doug is survived by one daughter Amber Ballew of Bryson City; three sons Brent Ballew of Bryson City, Skyler Ballew of Bryson City, and Ashton Rickman of Tennessee; three brothers Allen Ballew and wife Debra of New Hampshire, James Edward (Eddie) Ballew of Bryson City, and Donnie Ballew and wife Sandi of Whittier; one niece Melanie Ballew; two nephews Justin Ballew, and Trevor Ballew.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Fox will officiate with burial in the Lauada Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 9281 of Bryson City.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
