Obituary of James Timothy Houser

James Timothy (Tim) Houser, 50, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 12, 2015 at John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC. A native of Gaston County and five year resident of Swain County, he was the son of James Houser and wife Robin of Lincolnton, NC and Hazel Shultz and husband Roy of Bryson City. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Huey and Bertie Combs; Thomas and Dorsie Houser; one niece, Christin Phillips; and one nephew, D.J. McGaha.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Timothy Houser of Lincolnton, NC; two grandchildren, Trinity and Tiara Houser of Lincolnton; two brothers, Randy Houser and wife Tammy of Opelousas, LA and Robbie Houser of Ellenboro, NC; one sister, Beth McGaha and husband Donald of Bryson City; two step sisters, Scarlet Casey of Lincolnton, NC and Audrey Peticoss of Ellenboro, NC; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at Alarka Church of God. Revs. Gerald Gibson and Jim Frady will officiate with burial in the Mason Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses may be made to Hazel Shultz, 39 Barnes Cove Road, Bryson City, NC 28713.
