I was a student of Dr. Sins in the fall of 1997 at the University of South Carolina, taking her MUED 454: Music for Young Children class. Now, in 2020, my son, age four, and I were going through my old MUED 454 notebook learning Halloween and Thanksgiving songs she taught us. I miss her and her class-- it was an oasis in the midst of a challenging semester. She taught me how to love the soprano recorder, and even recommended I continue learning to play and try a tenor recorder (which I did). She was such a blessing to all of us! Thank you, Dr. Sins for all you taught us! I will forever cherish the memory of your class! I'll never forget you!

Sincere sympathies. We knew Nell to be a kind and gentle woman. She liked the sunshine coming through the windows into her home. Now she is in Heaven surrounded by God's light!
