Obituary of Roger Lee Barker

Roger Barker, 57, of the Alarka community went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Alice Barker. His brother, Larry Barker "Loc Doc" joined Roger in heaven less than 24 hours after Roger's passing.
He is survived by a daughter, Ashley Barker of Whittier and a son, David Barker of Whittier; two granddaughters who were the sparkle of his eye, Shelly Kirkland and Ceana Barker of Whittier and the mother of his children, Wanda Barker-Floyd of Whittier; two nieces Amy and Sonya and one nephew, Eddie; and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2015 followed ba a service with Rev. Jimmy Lambert officiating at the Whittier Church of God.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
