Bryson City – Jerry R. Wiggins, 72, of Bryson City, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, in Sylva, North Carolina. He was born on June 6, 1943, in Andrews, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Southwestern Community College after having worked in the textile industry. He was a veteran, having served in the US Navy on the USS Saratoga.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Wiggins and Oreen Hall, his brothers James A. Wiggins Jr. and Richard Wiggins, and sisters Joyce Wiggins, Ann Jones and Lois Jenkins.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pauline E. Wiggins. They have three children and four grandchildren: son David Wiggins of Asheville NC, and children: Andrew, Lindsey and Kensley; son Matthew Wiggins of Bryson City, NC, and son Caleb; and son Jeremiah Wiggins of Bryson City, NC. He is also survived by his brothers Donald and Rickey and sisters Linda, Jean and Edith all of Bryson City, NC.
A private service will be held. Memorials may be made to Harris Home Health and Hospice, 132 Sylva Plaza, Sylva NC 28779.
