Obituary of Agnes Rheace Crisp

Agnes R. Crisp, 84, of the Deep Creek Community, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson Disease. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Robert (Rob) and Mamie Crisp. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister Inas Crisp; and two brother Odas Crisp and Olin Crisp. Agnes was a graduate of Swain County High School, and also East Tennessee State University. She was the Reservation Manager for the High Hampton Inn and Country Club in Cashiers, NC for about 40 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed nature walks. She is survived by two sisters Gladys Crisp Woody of Bryson City, and Glenith Crisp Brooks and husband Bill of Smyrna, GA; two sister-in-law's Virginia DeBord and husband Martin of Bryson City, and Lou Edith Crisp Miller of Brevard, NC; one niece Karen Torda (Mike); four nephews, Scott Woody, Barry Brooks, Greg Crisp (Sarah), Brian Brooks (Stephanie); five great nieces and nephews; and one great great nephew. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Sale will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation PO Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 for Parkinson research.
