Obituary of Junior Galloway
Junior Galloway (Mud Turtle), 65, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at his residence. A native of South Carolina, he had been a resident of Swain County for 46 years. He was the son of the late U.G. and Seldia Jane Holland Galloway.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rosia Moore; two brothers, Billy Joe and John Wayne Galloway; and brothers-in-law, Virgil and Marvin Simonds.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Galloway; two daughters, Julie Galloway of Sylva, Yvonne Ferrin and husband David of Cashiers; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Marianne Smith of Pickens, SC, Rachel Smith of Easley, SC; one brother, Robert (Bobby) Galloway of Ranger, GA; three brothers-in-law, Arvil Simonds, Dillard Simonds, Jeff Simonds, all of Bryson City; and four sisters-in-law, Betty Buchanan, Marilyn Queen, Evanell Howard, and Laura Baines, all of Bryson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Earl King and Max Cochran will officiate with burial in Fred Cochran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
