Obituary of Chester William Crisp

Chester W. Crisp, of the Stecoah Community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by parents, Carey and Hattie Pilkington Crisp, brothers Eugene and Vollie Crisp; sister Vivian Holder and wife Ima Jean Garland Crisp.
Survivors include one brother, JC Crisp and wife Wilma; many nephews, nieces and cousins as well as special friend and caretaker, Patsy Brooms.
Chester was a longtime educator, basketball coach at Stecoah and Mountain View Schools, and mentor to many students. A World War II Army Veteran, he served as principal at Stecoah School, was a former Graham County Commissioner, businessman and Church Deacon. He loved traveling and will be remembered for his generosity and quick wit. Chester enjoyed life to the fullest.
Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Stecoah Baptist Church. Rev. G.D. Phillips will officiate with burial in Panther Creek Cemetery, with graveside Military rites conducted by the Graham County VFW post.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 unitl 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Church.
