Obituary of Marvin Clayton Simonds

Bryson City Dateline: Marvin Clayton Simonds, 73, of the Alarka Community, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 6th, 2012 at his brothers residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Clayton and Annie Simonds. He was also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ledford Simonds, and one brother, Virgil Simonds. He attended Serenity Baptist Church. He is survived by a son Robert Lee Simonds of Bryson City, five sisters, Shirley Galloway, Betty Buchanan, Marilyn Queen, Evanell Howard, and Laura Baines all of Bryson City, three brothers, Arvil, Dillard, and Jeff Simonds all of Bryson City, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Max Cochran and Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in Fred Cochran Cemetery.
