Obituary of Bobby Newton Green

Bobby Green, 73, of the Whittier Community went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 2, 2015 in a Jackson County health care facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Will and Anna Adams Green. He was a member of Hightower Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maxine Green; three children, Deloris Smith and husband David of the Alarka community, Bobby Green Jr. and wife Deena of the Whittier community, Darlene Shepherd and husband Johnny of the Lauada community; six grandchildren, Crystal McFalls, Christina Smith, Amber Shepherd, Ashley Elders, Joshua Shepherd, Rebecca Fisher; seven great grandchildren, Mykenize, Aiden, Reagan, Evan, Brody, Tyler, and Hayden; one sister, Fannie Wiggins of Bryson City; and Brittany Shepherd, wife of Joshua, who was the loving caregiver of her "Pa".
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Dewayne Kirkland will officiate with burial in the Lauada Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
