Obituary of Wade Edward Ball

Wade Edward Ball, 79, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 1, 2015 in a Swain County health care facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late John Ruben and Hester McLean Ball. He was a faithful member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, camper and outdoorsman. Wade was a devoted husband and wonderful father.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sidney and Earl Ball; and one sister, Marie Skidmore.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frankie Holder Ball; one son, David Ball and wife Jackie of Bryson City; one daughter, Gina West and husband Don of Whittier; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at Deep Creek Baptist Church of which he was a member. Rev. Mike Cogdill will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wade to the Sweet Thoughts Alzheimer's Support Group, PO Box 1381, Bryson City, NC 28713.
