Obituary of Wade Edward Ball

Wade Edward Ball, 79, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 1, 2015 in a Swain County health care facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late John Ruben and Hester McLean Ball. He was a faithful member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, camper and outdoorsman. Wade was a devoted husband and wonderful father. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sidney and Earl Ball; and one sister, Marie Skidmore. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frankie Holder Ball; one son, David Ball and wife Jackie of Bryson City; one daughter, Gina West and husband Don of Whittier; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at Deep Creek Baptist Church of which he was a member. Rev. Mike Cogdill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wade to the Sweet Thoughts Alzheimer's Support Group, PO Box 1381, Bryson City, NC 28713. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
