Obituary of Charles Richard Ollis

Charles Richard Ollis, 72, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Earl and Eloise Grant Ollis. He was a member and trustee of Harmony Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman. He loved woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen Monteith Ollis; one daughter, Megan Smoker of Bryson City; two grandchildren, Baylen and Airowen Smoker of Bryson City; one brother, David Ollis and wife Lucille of Bryson City; and many aunts and cousins who have supported him through his illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Tony Cochran, Lowell York, and Mike Cogdill will officiate with burial in the Lauada Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
