Bryson City Dateline: Salvatore (Sam) Adevai, 81, formerly of Bryson City and recently lived in Franklin, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 2nd, 2011, in a Swain County Hospital. A native of New Jersey and Florida, he had lived in Western NC for the past 8 years. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Catholic Church. The family wants to thank the VA Center in Franklin, the Nurses in Swain County Hospital, and the staff of Mountain View Manor. He is survived by his wife Lea Bernard Adevai, and his adopted family, Albert Jr., John and Joe Bernard, Evelyn Vanhook and husband Terry, Beverly Wiggins, many Grand and Great grandchildren, and one sister Marie Adevai of New Jersey. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday May 5th in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Sale will officiate with burial in the Black Mountain Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Home. An online register is available at www.crispfuneralhome.org
