Richard C. Stewart, 79, of Whittier went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 22, 2011 at his residence. A native of Maryland and resident of Florida for 20 years, he had lived in Whittier for the past 3 years.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Stewart; four children, Laura Thompson of Winter haven, FL, Ernie Hewitt of Houston, TX, Deena Williams of Winter haven, FL, Steven Hewitt of Winter haven, FL; three grandchildren, Jamie Hewitt of FL, Jody Wragg and Tamara Thompson both of CA; and one nephew, Dana Back of the Bahamas.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Whittier United Methodist Church of which he was a member and choir member. Rev. David Baxter will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
