Obituary of Maxine Harris Freeman

Mrs. Maxine Harris Freeman, age 95, passed away Tuesday at the residence of her daughter in Cherokee, NC with whom she had made her home the past four years. A native of Gordon County, GA, she had lived most of her adult life in Spring Place, GA and Ringgold, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil B. and Ida Etheridge Harris; her husband, Carl F. Freeman Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Wanda Freeman; a sister, Mary Katherine Griffin; a brother, Bobby Harris and a great granddaughter, Sarah Peck. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl F. and Tommie Ann Freeman of Calhoun, GA and Steve and Barbara Freeman of Winchester, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Ed Kilgore of Cherokee, NC and Annette and Phil Tallent of Chattanooga, TN; and a sister, Dorothy Harris Cabaniss of Adairsville, GA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January20, at 8:00 p.m. at Acquoni Baptist Chapel with Pastor Ed Kilgore officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. An additional service and burial will be held in Ringgold, GA. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
