Harold Lee Stephenson, 71, of the Stephenson Branch Community, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 25th, 2011, in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Robert Pierce and Bessie Johnson Stephenson. He was an employee of the Swain County School Systems for 14 years.
He is survived by four children, Tammy S. Orr and husband Teddy of Todd, NC, Ricky Lee Stephenson and wife Rebecca Dawn, Pamela Michelle Laughlin, and Travis Eric Stephenson and wife Carla all of Bryson City, 10 grandchildren, a twin sister, Genevieve Lindsay and husband Phillip of Bryson City, and a brother Gerald Stephenson and wife Annie of Bryson City.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of which he was a member. Revs. David Watkins and Jerry Orr will officiate with burial in the Sawyer Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Church.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
