Bryson City Dateline: Clarence James (Jim) Deck, 54, a native of Florida, he has been a resident of Swain County since 2000. He was a member of Vero Beach Seventh Day Adventist Church. Jim also was employed as a Detention Officer at the Swain County Jail. He also was a member of the Brothers in the Wind Motorcycle Club and a proud member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edwin Deck. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Owl Deck; three children, Shannon Deck Priddy and husband Steven of Mckenzie, TN, Joshua Deck and wife Shae of Bryson City, and Mandy Deck Phillips and husband Jason of Sardis, TN; one brother William (Bill) Deck and wife Alice of Henderson, TN; one sister, Wynona Deck Luna and husband Ismael of Vero Beach, FLA; and 7 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday March 11th, 2011 in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Charles Ray Ball and John Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. An online register is available at www.crispfuneralhome.org
