Obituary of Mary E Brown

Bryson City Dateline Mary E. Brown, 93, of Bryson Branch Road went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Macon County, she had lived in Swain County for the past 52 years. She was the daughter of the late James and Elmina Anderson Emory and wife of the late James Millard Brown. She was a retired cook with the Swain County Hospital. She was preceded in death by a son, James Hugh Brown and two grandsons, Andrew Ian Brown and Kevin Sean Brown. She is survived by two daughters, Fran Bryant and husband Jerry of Cumming, GA, Betty Rickman of Hendersonville, NC; one son, Lyman Brown and wife Maureen of Seabrook, TX; two grandchildren, Chuck Bryant and wife Jennifer and Tony Rickman and wife Allison; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Eddie Dietz will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local hospice.
