Robert Cecil Dorsey, 80, of the Needmore Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 3, 2011 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Albert and Lillie Oliver Dorsey. He was a self employed logger and dozer operator. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Dorsey.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Smith Dorsey; three daughters, Vickie Bailey and husband Charles of Bryson City, Donna Oliver and husband Bill of Bryson City, Rose Marie Jenkins and husband Joe of Bryson City; one sister, Edna Owens of Muncie, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Lynette Phillips, Brandon Bailey, McKinley Jenkins, Jr., Chris Jenkins, Maggie Jones, Nikki Gibson, and Kala Oliver; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Jeff Waldroup will officiate with burial in the Grave Gap Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
