Joanie and family....we had planned to come to Dixie's viewing, but, ice has moved in on us here. Thus, we are afraid to get on the roads. But, our heartflet sympathy goes out to all of you. I know you remember the suffering she has endured prior to her passing and now, you realize the peace around her and the family. The warm meories of her being your mother will be with you always. Darrell and Dixie's family,
Dixie was such an inspiration to me. Her display of strength and faith was remarkable. She set the standard so high for how to live in the most difficult times of life. The last time I spoke with Dixie was at Harris Hospital when she had accompanied Darrell while he had physical therapy. She told me about hospice and added: "I know this is terminal, but everything is pretty good today and I am at peace." (These are fairly close to her exact words.) Gil joins me in sending our love and letting you know that Dixie enriched our lives. God Bless each of you with wonderful memories of a remarkable woman, Mary Stiles
