Jimmie Lee Jones, 92, of the Alarka Community, went home to be with The Lord, Thursday, January 6th, 2011 at her residence. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Amanda Franklin and wife of the late Hoie Jones who died in 1973. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Marie Smith, son-in-law John Smith, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, 8 sisters, and one brother. She was a member of East Alarka Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynda Smith and husband J.W. of Bryson City; one sister, Janie Smith of Bryson City; five grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Moore will officiate with burial in Brendle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
