David O. Wells, 55, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 26, 2010 in a Buncombe County Hospital. A native of Florida, he had been a resident of Swain County for the past 11 years. He was owner and operator of Bryson City Electronics. He was greatly involved in Children's Ministries in the churches of which he was a member for many years. He was predeceased by his father, Carlos C. Wells, Jr. and his dad, Jack Embrey.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Wells; mother, Barbara Embrey of Valrico, FL; five children, David Wells of the U.S. Air force, Christina Wells of Brandon, FL, Michael Wells of Maggie Valley, NC, Melissa Junkin of Sylva, Christina Junkin of the home; four grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Heuer of River View, FL, Deanna Embrey of Valrico, FL; and one brother, Glenn Embrey of Seffner, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Victory Baptist Church on Cowee Mountain, of which he was a member. Pastor Benny Bagwell and Danny Sweet will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City and also from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Victory Baptist Church Building Fund, 278 Victory Church Road, Sylva, NC 28779.
