Whittier Dateline: Gladys "Granny" Dills Littrell age 84, of Sam Dills Rd, Whittier, went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 10, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. A lifelong resident of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Ida Dills. She was a member of Patterson Chapel Baptist Church. She loved flowers, gardening, animals, children, and especially her family. She was preceded in death by her sons, George (Jr), John, Timmy, and Tommy and one daughter Viola. Surviving are her three daughters, Wilda Allen of Whittier, NC, Judy Smathers of Glenville, NC, Betty Bryson and husband Lester of Jonesboro, GA, 8 grandchildren, 11great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was a mother and grandmother to many others. Granny will be loved, remembered and never forgotten by all whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Derrick Frady and Tommy Ashe will officiate with burial in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Sylva, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. An online register is available at www.crispfuneralhome.org
