Blanche Cook Estep, age 77, of the Brush Creek Community in Bryson City went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2010 after a period of declining health.
A lifelong resident of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mamie Hutchins Cook; and wife of the late Grady P. Estep. She was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Harold Estep; three brothers, Leroy, Joel, and Floyd Cook; and one grandson, Ronnie Estep, Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Cloer and husband Mike; two sons, Randy Estep and wife Sheila, Ronnie Estep and wife Carolyn; five grandchildren, Melissa Vaughn and husband Anthony, Michelle DeHart and husband Kevin, Jason Cloer and wife Heather of Franklin, Mark Estep and wife Joni, Amy Robertson and husband Heath; nine great grandchildren, Darien, Cason, Logan, Cydnie, Autumn, Reece, Blake, Cody, and Jasmine all of Bryson City; three brothers, John Cook of Whittier, Wade Cook of Bryson City, Sam Cook of Alabama; four sisters, Barbara Holden of Charleston, SC, Retha Sieveking of Bryson City, Vera Cogdill of Waynesville, Patricia McDermott of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brush Creek Baptist Church. Revs. Bobby Cloer and Jim Cochran will officiate with burial in the Tabor Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until the service hour.
