Myrtle Maxine Shuler, 85, formerly of the Alarka Community, Bryson City, NC passed away September 29, 2014 at Signature Health Care in Greeneville, TN. Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Catherine Simonds; husband, Odell Shuler; eight brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children (and spouses) William Shuler (Norma) of Bryson City, NC; Mack Shuler (Gwenda) of Brevard, NC; Charles Shuler (Remy) of San Diego CA; Dennis Shuler (Rose) of Greeneville, TN; Sandra Herron (Terry) of Denver, NC; Randy Shuler (Tammy) of Brevard, NC; Roger Shuler of Hendersonville, NC; Renee Merritt (Guy) of Brevard, NC; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; sister, Merilee Hardin; brother, John Simonds; and sweet friends, Doris Thompson and Hazel Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Randy and Brian Shuler will officiate with burial at Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Friday at the funeral home.
