Obituary of Morgan Cain Wolfe

Morgan Cain Wolfe, 85, of the Big Cove community went home to be with the Lord Monday August 8, 2011 in a Cherokee health care facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lizzie Welch Wolfe. He was retired with the Cherokee Historical Association with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Big Cove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Jumper Wolfe; seven children, Stanley, Jenkins, Phillip, Larry, Ned, Marcel, and Sally Mae Wolfe; two sisters, Geneva West, Lula Sequoyah; and three brothers, Amble, Richard, and Howard Wolfe. He is survived by two children, Lloyd Wolfe and wife Teresa of Cherokee, Sadie Locust and husband Jeremiah of Cherokee; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Big Cove Baptist Church. Revs. James (Bo) Parris and Charles Griffin will officiate with burial in the family cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service.
