Obituary of Lavenia Mae Thompson

Lavenia Mae Chiltoskie Thompson, 86, of the Yellowhill Community, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her sons residence. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Watty and Tinnie Smith Chiltoskie. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxilary. She attended the Cherokee United Methodist Church and was active at Tsali Manor when she was able. She was preceded in death by her husband Reginald Thompson; one sister Clara Standingdeer; and a brother Alvin Chiltoskie. She is survived by two sons Walter Thompson and wife Jannie of Cherokee, and Alan Thompson of Cherokee; four grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson, Caroline Hyatt and husband Jeremy, Gabby and Dylan Thompson, Great grandchildren, Jordyn Thompson, Reginald Hyatt, and Kedron Hyatt all of Cherokee; one sister Nancy Chiltoskie of Cherokee; many nieces and nephews, and her loving dog Porky. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Cherokee United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Phillipi and Brother James (Bo) Parris will officiate with burial in the Thompson Family Cemetery. She will be taken to the Church at 5:00 PM Sunday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of Service.
