Robert Lindsay, 72, of the Lauada Community passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 in a Swain County Health Care Facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Wade and Effie Franklin Lindsay. He was retired with 22 years of service with the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. He also retired with Kansas Power and Gas Co. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Nelson Lindsay.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Slagle Lindsay; special daughter, Laura Ellen Holden; two sisters, Mary Alice Miles of Stanley, NC, Genevieve Lequire of Bryson City; three grandchildren, Sage Holden, Liam Holden, and Will Thomas Holden; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Earl King will officiate.
