Obituary of Karen Elizabeth Jacobs

Karen Sandlin Jacobs, 76, of Bryson City, went to rest in the arms of Jesus Sunday, May 4, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late George Clinton and Ora Smiley Sandlin. She was a regional Liaison of the Western Carolina Bluebird Society. She was a paralegal with WNC Legal Services as a benefits specialist. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Clinton Jacobs. She is survived by four children, Connie Jacobs Jenkins and husband Troy who was very dear and special to her, of Bryson City; George Michael Jacobs and wife Ginger of Wildwood, FL, Jerry Lee Jacobs of Ft. McCoy, FL, Kandace Jacobs Caldwell of Bryson City; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, John C. Sandlin and wife Judy of Bryson City, Dwight C. Sandlin of Laurel, MS; sister, Sue Jacobs Sofield. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
