Obituary of Max Arthur Wright

Max A. Wright, 69, of Whittier passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 in a Swain County Hospital. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ina Long Wright. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Ray Wright. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Fannie Wright; four children Doug Sutton of Whittier, Debbie Waugh and husband Jeff of Asheville, Bruce Wright and wife Lisa of Lincolnton, and Lori Nations and husband Claude of Whittier; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Harriett Watkins and husband Donald of Clinton, TN. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Holden will officiate with burial in Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
