Obituary of Genevieve Lequire

Bryson City Dateline Genevieve Lindsay Smith Lequire, 76, of the Deep Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 7, 2011 in a Buncombe County hospital. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late William Wade and Effie Franklin Lindsay. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Smith and brother, Robert Lindsay. She is survived by her husband of eight years, Harvey Lequire; one daughter, Frances Smith Bitner of Candler; one son, Jerry Smith of Woodstock, VA; three stepchildren, Ella Sellers, Roger Lequire, Sandee Kelley; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bitner, Anna Smith, and Ashley Smith, and one sister, Mary Alice Miles of Stanley, NC. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Deep Creek Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev. Mike Cogdill will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the Church 30 minuets prior to the service.
